About Waikerie

Warrawee Lodge is located in the picturesque town of Waikerie where you will finally get to relax and unwind.  The mild winters and warm summers of the Riverland offer the perfect retirement respite.

Located less than a two-hour drive from Adelaide, you’ll experience the natural beauty of the Murray River, and the friendly charm of locally owned shops, cafes, social clubs and sporting facilities.  Living in Waikerie, you will be spoiled for choice.

History of
Warrawee Lodge

For more than 50 years, Warrawee Lodge has provided premium independent living for retirees in South Australia.   After so long, we’ve become deeply connected to the Waikerie Community.   The first units were built on Rotary Drive in 1967, and the village now consists of 78 independent living units in total.

With development plans in the works, our well-established facility continues to innovate and grow.  We are committed to your safety and comfort as we update and expand, to offer retirement living at its best.

Our People

Our community owned village is run by Waikerie Community Senior Citizens’ Home Inc (WCSCHI) – a not-for-profit organisation.   The WCSCHI Board of directors provides strategic oversight to enable the successful and appropriate management of the day to day operations and administration of WCSCHI.

WCSCHI’s vision is to support older South Australians to lead active and healthy lives and has been supporting the local community through a range of services. These services align to our mission to enable a vibrant, healthy and inclusive community where people are supported in maintaining a fulfilling lifestyle with grace, dignity and purpose.

Warrawee’s day-to-day operations are run by our Village Manager who also oversees the Grounds & Maintenance and Lifestyle / Wellbeing and Administration Support staff.

Our residents are the heart of our village, and we are proud of the friendly and welcoming retirement community that they have created at Warrawee.

We currently have 94 residents living in the village,
with an average age of 80 years old.  Our residents’ ages range from 62 – 99 so you are sure to make many new and interesting friendships when you join our community.
